Aerials
Reaching new heights of quality and dexterity HME, Inc. has teamed with RK Aerials to produce aerial apparatus product worthy of our name. From the nimble 75' Quint to the full featured 104' Platform HME's unique concept of mating state-of-the-art technology and the highest quality materials and workmanship moves us to the head of the class in Aerial apparatus. Bodies made from durable stainless steel provide the ultimate in corrosion resistance; engineered for durability and strength, our structural system gives superior strength without the restrictions associated with heavy "low tech" steel superstructures. We can offer maximum water capacities and compartment space to carry your load with ease and safety. Choose from any one of HME's 1871 line of custom chassis and you'll have a performance winner every time.

High strength steel ladders are constructed to the highest standards known, fully tested during the assembly process and prior to delivery. Tip loads are 500 lb. with water flowing on the 75' Quint, 109' Aerial and 104' Platform models at the lowest elevations giving the capacity you need where it counts. Full details on weight distribution are available from HME - just a "click" away!

HME Aerial products feature Hyrdo-Technology® providing the ultimate in efficiency and dependability. Engineered for the needs of today and the future our use of stainless steel and high-pressure wire reinforced plumbing reduces friction loss and simplifies the entire module. Service issues are addressed during the design stage where we've made access to all components a primary consideration. Full size gauge and curbside panels and a large open area up front make service easy every time. Even the hydraulic tank is built into the pumphouse module taking up otherwise waste space.

Other standard features include the Class 1 Es-Key® Electrical Management System providing the high tech components that form the nucleus of the HME electrical assembly. High strength Polypropylene water tanks give an added weight advantage, 75' units easily handle 400 gallons of water and full-depth compartments easily staying within the weight ratings of the axles. Side-stack hosebeds provide storage for up to 1500' of 5" hose; center chutes provide similar capacities and allow additional compartment storage capacity. Independent rollout running boards constructed from 12-gauge stainless Lasergrip are NFPA compliant, attractive and easily replaced if damaged.

Optional available features include radio controlled aerial / nozzle functions, envelope "cab collision" control to assist in nesting the ladder and "Soft-Touch" ramping controls for all ladder functions. Breathing air to the tip, Anchors, 110-Vlighting and power, three-station communications, custom painting and graphics make true customization a reality. Need more for your operations? HME has it all!

"I just wanted to send you this note and tell you how pleased we are with the new addition to our Fire Department family. Last year we purchased a 109 foot Aerial Ladder from HME. This was the first new purchase for a vehicle of this type in the departments 50 year history. Since getting "Ladder-1" it has been both a source of pride as well as a valuable tool for protecting our community.

From the very beginning of the process, we knew a Quint type of unit would fit our needs. The 109 was more of a truck than we ever imagined we could afford. It has more ladder reach, more water on wheels and more pumping capacity than any other of the Quints in our area. Our selection began with visiting your website and finding Ladder-1 as a demo unit. Mr. Joe Merrill then met with us and showed off the vehicle to our crews and elected officials. After presenting this unique deal to our township board of trustees and showing them how it will serve the community well into the future, it was a unanimous vote to purchase the truck.

Ladder-1 is not our only HME. In 2001, we purchased an engine from HME which still runs first out on all fires and auto accidents. I must also compliment you on the service you provide to your owners. Anytime we have had a problem with either truck, just a phone call is all it took to remedy the problem.

My thanks to everyone who made this possible. And a special thanks to Joe Merrill. He was great to work with, and got all of our questions answered. The HME investment was a good one for our community. We are also proud to say that HME is built in Michigan! That carries a lot of weight, especially in this economy. When it comes time to look for our next piece of fire apparatus, you can be sure we will look to HME."
